Vacation Forever – Dennis Langenstam

Dennis Langenstam escaped the Canadian winter weather to ride in warmer conditions in Barcelona, Spain. I was lucky enough to meet him the day before he left to Canada, and shoot a couple of photos of him riding his bike.

I met Dennis with only 8 photos left on my camera, and didn’t really know how the photos and colors would look like, because I was using a roll of film that I had never used before, a Fujichrome Velvia 50. It was easy to shoot with him, his style is pretty dialed. He tricked the jump and I clicked the shutter release. One trick, one photo. It only took us half an hour to get all the photos.

Much more was the wait to get that roll of film developed and digitalized, like ten days. As always, I was excited to see the results. Unfortunately, that roll was expired, and that sucked. I don’t really like the red color scheme on every photo, but it is what it is, film photography.

Here is Dennis’ vacation in Spain.

I currently live in Squamish, BC. I was working at a bar all winter saving up for my trip to Barcelona. The reason I wanted to go to La Poma is because I heard it’s such a good spot from so many people, and I wanted to get some good riding in before the season starts here in Canada.

My month in Barcelona was amazing. I was staying with my Swedish friends in an apartment which was a 5 minute bike ride away from La Poma bike park, so I couldn’t have asked for a better place to share with great people. La Poma is the best place I’ve ridden for sure… It’s got everything you could ask for, and it’s all so well built.

It was usually pretty windy during the day so we would ride the foam pit during those hours, and then ride the jumps in the morning/evening. The level of riding over there was pretty insane. It definitely makes it more fun when everyone’s that stoked all the time. We spent most of our time riding there, but we also got the opportunity to go and check out Lloret Trails, Sherwy’s and Eurocamp.

Overall I had a great time and I’m super happy that I made the trip over to Spain. I’ll definitely go back!
